I had a server (luckily non-production services) reboot at random this morning after the Config Manager client forced it to. It lead me to review the update deployment settings and maintenance window configurations I have set up. After a bit of googling, I found this great article that accomplishes what I want… http://configmgr.com/using-maintenance-windows-while-patching/
Now my servers should apply the updates as soon as the deployment deadline is reached, but suppress the restart until the maintenance window begins!
